Featured Project • Graeagle Chalet

Tucked away in Lost Sierra village of Graeagle, CA this home was dated and ready for a renovation. Our client had the great inspiration to create a modern Chalet and we ran with it. Creating an open floor plan was the keystone of the project. We accomplished this goal by relocating the laundry room and opening up the walls to a newly designed kitchen. The wood-burning fireplace took on a new fresh look with a modern gas fireplace, new ledge stone, mantel, and wall-mounted TV. Both bathrooms and all three bedrooms were updated and new luxury vinyl plank flooring extended through the entire home.

The RemodelWest full-service Father-Son team, designed, and prepared the plans, obtained permits and built the project.

As a licensed general contractor since 1994, my focus has been entirely residential large-scale remodeling and construction of new single-family homes. The foundation of my experience stems from my company, RemodelWest, which I established in 1992 as a Design and Construction Company. Over the past thirty years, I have orchestrated the architectural, interior design, and construction of hundreds of projects from the original inception to obtaining city and county approvals.

I especially enjoy working with homeowners to achieve their dreams!

Within my core competency is the supervision of Architectural/ Interior Design staff and Construction personnel. This experience provides deep insight to translation of project plans and documents, implementing designs into projects, the inner workings of homes, construction methods, and strength in identifying construction deficiencies. My core strengths are Residential Design, Residential Construction, Architectural, Structural Plan Review, Estimating, Project Management, Construction Scheduling, Job Cost Tracking, Owners Agent, Subcontractor and Supplier interface.

Following my passion for the outdoors and love for the Sierra Nevada my mission now is to craft a life where I can couple my experience in the construction industry with life in the mountains.

Since 1999 my home base has been shared between Lake Almanor and the Bay Area. With Family in the Graeagle-Blairsden area.

Custom Homes + Design + Construction

Bill Reid and his team at Remodel West did a complete remodel of our 2800 sq foot home in Los Altos, CA, back in 2004. We were thoroughly impressed by Bill and his team's responsiveness and attention to detail throughout the process. Our project manager kept us informed of all developments and made sure our project got done in a timely manner. The subs he hired were top notch, too. Bill clearly takes pride in his company and his team, and it shows. 10 years later, and we're still pleased with the results!

When RemodelWest says they do "Total Care Remodeling" they really mean it. We hired RemodelWest based on a recommendation of a co-worker. This was our first remodel, and we were a little nervous about the project, namely adding a second full bathroom to our existing floorplan, demolishing the existing full bath and making it into a master suite as well as building an entertainment center for our family room. Bill put us at ease during our first meeting when he explained step by step how his team would approach our project.

RemodelWest recently completed a kitchen relocation and remodel for us. My husband and I had talked for many years about remodeling our kitchen. We knew before we started that we wanted to go with a Design/Build firm, and once we met Bill and and the RemodelWest team, we knew they were who we wanted to go with. The attention to detail was very impressive. During the design phase, they listened what we wanted, but also provided alternatives if we wanted something that wouldn’t meet code or didn’t quite make sense from a design standpoint.

The detail of the work was very professional and meticulous. The contractors were very knowledgeable, courteous and pleasant. After a days work they would make sure the area was cleaned. We also liked the fact that before the project started and as we went along and made changes, we would be informed before hand of the costs. So there were no unhappy financial surprises .
